Our Story:
At Swanson Coffee, our journey began with our love for great coffee. As a barista at a hotel than a 24-hour Starbucks. Then after hearing someone say growing coffee in Colorado is impossible, we grew coffee in the mile-high state. We studied the intricacies of growing environments, nerdy stuff like secondary metabolites – the things that give each coffee its subtle characteristics.
Our intro to roasting was a popcorn machine and a quarter cup of green coffee beans. From there we went to a Behmore 1600. We worked that little 226-gram roaster too hard so we upgraded the electronics. We now roast on a Diedrich IR-5 at a health-inspected co-op in Denver, Colorado. What started as a backyard and garage roastery in the heart of Aurora, Colorado has grown into a thriving community of coffee enthusiasts, united by our shared appreciation for the artistry and complexity of coffee.
